"It should all be taken to a nice, clean, safe, economic sorting warehouse, where ALL of the stuff could be recycled, instead of just some."
It's done that way in Calif, at least in all the places I am aware of. Mandatory recycling, deposit on containers.I think bottled water is included, but juices aren't. Down in civilization, there is curbside pick up of the recyclables, including newspapers and green waste, by the garbage companies. Up here, there are places around. One in town just by the post office (where everybody goes, cuz we don't have delivery), one at the dump transfer station. I take my bottles and aluminum there when I go to the dump; about 3 times a year, cuz I don't generate a lot of garbage. There's a dumpster at work for recycling; I throw in the tin cans and non-deposit glass jars and plastic. |
