My understanding of the meaning of "leap of faith" is a belief in something without empirical evidence.
en.wikipedia.org

I've made two leaps of faith in my life, first, believing in God without empirical evidence that God exists, and second, getting married.

My belief in God has nothing to do with scripture, and everything to do with contemplating the history of the Universe rationally. It is a leap of faith to decide that God must exist because the Universe exists.

Thus, I don't look to scripture to tell me how to live. "Right living" and "right action" are things which are empirically obvious, if you look at how societies function, both well functioning societies and poorly functioning societies.
