Thanks for an interesting education. In the Eastern religions, the emphasis is more on mysticism and a personal path to what in Islam could be called "Iqan" (whether or not a person is Muslim).

There are two words in Arabic that describe "faith". The first and more common one is "Iman" (pronounced ee-maan). It is what one would typically call a "believer" in the modern day. The other, and less frequently used word, is "Iqan". It refers to belief so strong that is equivalent to have actually witnessed the belief with one's own eyes.
