I didn't take it that way. I do think it was inappropriate & offensive enough to deserve a genuine apology. And I agree Maher's comments were reprehensibly offensive in comparison.

Besides, considering how he has adamantly defended his outrageous comments about Cheney, there is nothing he can now say to minimize what he said.
