Let me say this and see if you can understand the logic in my point.

I said war doctrine in this country should be as follows:

If at the end of the day we're not willing to wipe out a culture to win then we shouldn't go to war.

Thats as compelling a statement against war as it is for war.

My Grandpa told me to never raise a fist to another man - but when life leaves you no other choice you give that person an ass kicking that he'll never forget.

Thats similar to what I'm saying with regard to war doctrine. He wasn't saying "Michael, go out and kick peoples ass." He was advising against it but he was also smart enough to realize that sometimes life leaves us no choice. My grandpa was a great man. He died when I was in 3rd grade and he was the only grandparent I ever knew. But in those few years he made quite an impression on me
