taking oil company profits has always been popular for politicians.. folks hate oil companies they buy a commodity that they cannot live without to heat their homes and transportation. Every day they get frustrated with oil companies with out ever investigating how cheap the product really is to them esp. if we take away all the taxes at those gasoline pumps. States love to increase the taxes on gasoline and hurt the poor who can lease afford to pay while they scream for more tax to help them.
