But the purpose of the Japanese was relative "normal" as wars go. They wanted to expand. The Germans not only wanted to build a new Roman-style 1000 year "reich", they had a plan to exterminate Jews, people with disabilities, gays, gypsies, and other "undesirables". I think that's a little different. You may not, but if you don't see the difference, we'll just have to disagree yet again.

At the time of the 50 year anniversary of the atom bombs, I remember a reporter asking a Korean woman in Seoul what her opinion was of the atom bombs the US dropped on Japan. She replied that it was terrible that they had dropped only 2 atom bombs -- it should have been 20!

The Japanese colonized Korea from 1905 to 1945 and treated the Koreans as slaves. It was forbidden to speak Korean, even at home. Again, I think the distinctions you are making between the Germans and the Japanese were lost on the recipients of the treatment.
