Carl:
thank you for your review of JAG's referenced article. I see you haven't changed any. tell me, is there any truth to the rumor that you have been banned from the London Zoo as subsequent to your last visit two of the hyenas killed themselves, while the survivor is currently undergoing electroshock therapy? (VBG)
Carl, seriously, these threads need realists such as yourself to sober the cheerleading element, and your input, as always, is most appreciated.
at the very least, Applix apparently has a great customer with SUNW, and Mc Nealy's opinions do carry some weight in the IT community. Java right now is probably in a much more developed state at this stage than many other products were in their incipient stage. I recently heard someone say (maybe even right here; maybe even yourself, I can't remember now) that DOS set us back ten years. developers are currently working diligently on any bugs and shortcomings with Java. I just can't see it fizzling out. why, didn't even Bill Gates go from ridiculing the NC concept, to licensing Java? from what I have read the potential cost savings of NC is staggering. it cannot be ignored. and, as someone else just pointed out here, Java programmers seem to be in great demand in want ads.
thanks again for your always appreciated and educated commentary.
as always,
best regards
P.S. "Robert, me old 'fruit'"???? is that, perhaps, some reference to lime juice? |
