That Moore's law applies to switches and routers
but not to all optical gear was exactly my point.
I predict that fiber optic capabilities will rise
at roughly two or three times the pace of Moores
Law and thus will become the driving force of progress
in information technology over the next decade. Using
the bandwidth of fiber to compensate for the slower
advance of electronics will be the rule of the telecosm.
