No reason to argue with you; but, just when did you limit your claim to the New Testament? I don’t think throwing out the Old Testament was the intent of the Gospel. Didn’t Christ came to add to and fulfil the Old Testament, not replace it? Anyway, since when was protecting one's self and family considered vengeance? Further, sitting back and being slaughtered, might be portrayed as a form of suicide thru passive complicity.
