Tae, I have friends who sell for Cisco, Bay and 3Com to very large (Fortune 500 and gov't customers). I asked them about MRV. None of them had EVER run into them in their accounts. Intel has a great name, but not in internetworking. When CIO's want to bet their lives on a vendor, they are going to go with experience. Think about it, of all the hundreds of Ethernet switch vendors out there, only one has "made it", Xylan (with about 8% marketshare). All the others have insignificant sales or were bought out by one of the big three. Cisco has over 2000 sales reps and engineers worldwide, Bay has over 1500, and 3Com has about the same. How many feet on the street does MRV have? I would love to believe that MRV will ultimately triumph, but history does not fare well for them.
