How do you know anything about the circumstances of their capture? This information, which as far as I know is completely unavailable, is one of the things that I am saying if they are going to be detained indefinitely, should be made available. How was it determined that they are a risk to the USA? It's not that outlandish of a request
Once again, the information is only unavailable if you have your eyes closed. Below is a link to the Guantanamo CO describing the process each detainee went through to get to Gitmo.

The DOD has released transcripts of the Status Review testimonies.

And the DOD has released the names of all detainees that have been held at Gitmo.

There's plenty more available if you bother to look.
Well, you're a risk. We have no guarantee that you won't go somewhere and bomb Americans. None at all. Is that justification to lock you up indefinitely, without charge, other than someone, somewhere, somehow determined that you are a risk? Chew on that for a while.
That's silly. I'm a US citizen on US soil. The Fourth Amendment applies to me. The detainees are not US citizens, not on US soil, were not detained on US soil, and were detained in a war zone by military forces. The Fourth Amendment does not apply to them, and neither does habeas corpus. |
