Wharfie, Peak People was set to happen when efficient, cheap and safe contraception was invented. With the other cultural changes surrounding us all, such as being migrant, anonymous city dwellers in crowded economically competitive conditions, the whole eons-long basis of human biology and drives has changed totally. It's not in the slightest Malthusian. It's completely optional! People choose comfort, safety and good things. Malthusian life is not a matter of choice. One is forced by biology into Malthusian ways. We have defeated that process. As usual, the governments and Luddite doomsters are on the wrong side of history. Mqurice
