I do think the main grievances of the Arab world are rational. They want us off their land

What land? Iraq? They hated us before. We weren't "on their land". We left them alone. We dealt with their governments as we found them. They blamed us for their autocratic governments.

They make speeches about our "decadence" but nobody every put on Levis or ate at MacDonalds because he had a gun to his head. They love us, they hate us, they are ashamed. They need to put off their shame onto somebody else. They can see what Asia has achieved in the last 50 years while they have stagnated.

But it's always somebody else's fault. Never their own. Allah told them they would rule the earth. So somebody else betrayed them.

Now you think we should pull out of the ME. If we stopped all support, Israel would not have the most to be worried about. Israel has an economy and an army. But Egypt would collapse. And Saudi Arabia would be conquered in an afternoon. Then oil would go to $200 a barrel.

Then you would demand that somebody DO something.

I guess that's why they always make a fear based appeal to the rest of us.

And liberals love to bury their heads in the sand when something happens that isn't encompassed in their worldview. Shoot the messenger; wave your ignorance as proof of your righteousness.
