re: I've posted the figures numerous times. Defense spending over time has failed to grow as fast as the economy and thus takes up a smaller part of the defense budget.

The defense INDUSTRY is different than US spending on defense. Our companies (and other countries companies) sell a lot of stuff. That's what the military industrial complex is about... not just Pentagon spending.

I imagine the industry has grown over the years but I'm not sure.
