AT&T and Verizon are planning to spend a combined total of $55 billion to do last mile fiber optical cable stringing. It may prove to be essential to support the data flow capacity someday.

But in the meantime, the cheapest technology is to rent the last mile and adapt proven technology from cable operators' ground stations.

The triple play industry is ready to supply satellite media feeds to vod computers for programming independency for piggyback rentals.
