I run into backgammon junkies on that site I go to and they start throwing around all kinds of words I am not familiar with. There is a rated game you can play, but I don't know enough about the game to be rated. I am getting quite good at playing and really am understanding the strategy. I need to go to the site you posted and read up on the rules. I want to play the rated games and become the best backgammon player around. ;)
