I also think short puts are a sound idea for this board, in addition to covered calls.

Sometimes one becomes the other <g>.

Some of my favorites for put writing, followed by covered calls if assigned, are SLB, APA, ERF (great yield besides), PTEN, CNQ, ISRG, NFX, RIG, XING, and FLML.
