I fully agree that short puts should be part of this board.
I have not utilized this strategy myself, even though I know how it works.

Take a stock I use for covered calls, XLNX. It trades between 24.80 and 26 in the past few weeks. How would you set up your short position? What strike would you use and how much would you pay?

Your oil stocks are ideal for calls or puts because they have excellent volatility that is reflected with the price change of oil. One oil stock I can never seem to get right is EP. If I write a call against it, its guaranteed to drop more that I expected it to...:)
