Harris Stratex Networks Names 25-Year Industry Veteran Ed Hutton Vice President of Engineering

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX - News), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless network solutions, has appointed Ed Hutton vice president of engineering, based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In his new role, Mr. Hutton will lead the engineering organization and work closely with product line management to implement product strategies which best serve Harris Stratex Networks customers worldwide. He will report to Guy Campbell, president and chief executive officer of Harris Stratex Networks.
With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Hutton brings to Harris Stratex Networks extensive engineering management experience with both large corporations and startup businesses. He was most recently with the CLARiiON Division of EMC Corporation, where he managed the full spectrum of software development. Under Mr. Hutton's leadership, CLARiiON grew from an $800 million to an over $2 billion business, with a compound annual growth rate of more than 35 percent.

Prior to EMC, Mr. Hutton was Vice President of Engineering at Billions of Operations Per Second, Inc. (BOPS), a hardware and software development company based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as well as Vice President of Engineering/Product Management with Ericsson's Global Land Mobile Radio business unit in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Mr. Hutton's early experience includes multiple positions of increasing responsibility with NCR/AT&T and the United States Army. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
