Imperialist colonizers being resisted by brave local insurgents who have the sympathies of the "colonized" population - how much does this have to do with the actual reality of Iraq? I am glad you asked. It has a lot to do with Iraq. It is the fundamental argument of AQ. I already admitted not knowing the guy. What caught my eye initially was the kernels of truth in what he wrote. I have no interest in a line by line dissection. I am already aware that I don't agree with everything he wrote.
