A review of what's going on - mentions shorting stock volativity. The total capital for the hedge funds now doing what LTCM did is about 300B. The strategy produced 40% returns every year in recent 5 years "picking up pennies in front of a steamroller" -g- That 1 min drop was the steamroller. Didn't quite get them this time, but it's gonna, that's for sure -g- en.wikipedia.org
