Is there a way to short or (better) buy puts on the long bond? I figure bonds will go up, at first, as rates are dropped in a feeble attempt to fix things,

The the inflation will start - there's just no where but the printing press for the FEDs to go with all this debt. If rates go to 12%, then you'll be able to pay off a 25 year $1,000 bond with $333.
