I've always thought the Department of Justice should be a separate body, equal to the three checks and balances components of our government. Then we would have law makers, law judgers, law enforcers, and executives that have the power to check and balance each other. We have law enforcers who perform their duties with loyalty to the executives which seems to be a conflict of interest in some circumstances. Federal judges seem biased as well, so they should be either under the Surpremes or under a non-aligned department of justice, or a combination.
