The Dell'Oro Group's 2Q97 Asia/Pacific Region Shared Hub & LAN Switch report reveals high regional quarter-to-quarter growth in 100 Mbps Shared EN Hubs (+100%), 100 Mbps Switched EN (+60%), and 100+ Mbps ATM (+20%). 1H97 Asia/Pacific market share leaders for high speed networking equipment are:

In the 100 Mbps Shared EN market, 3Com and Intel gained ground; Allied Telesis and Accton retreated. In both the 100 Mbps Switched EN and 100+ Mbps ATM markets, Bay relinquished the no. 1 position to Cisco during 2Q97.
Although 10 Mbps Shared EN Hubs represent a majority of the total port shipments (70%), growth was low (+3%). Total port shipments in the region increased 10% from 1Q97 (2.6M) to 2Q97 (2.9M). Through 1H97, Asia/Pacific total port market share leaders and their share are: Allied Telesis, 22%; 3Com, 20%; and DLink, 18%.
