Hiram, What an interesting perspective! Do you believe the masses envy Tiger Woods for his vast riches and growing income just because he can hit a little white ball with a big stick? I would suggest that North Americans have more opportunity, more hope of self improvement and a fairer chance of achieving success than others in most parts of the world. Lowering taxes or encouraging and rewarding enterprise has raised nearly everyone's quality of life (especially those who choose to work for a better standard). Most government attempts to achieve that goal lead to the exact opposite result. i.e. - the unintended negative consequences of government actions frequently outweigh the anticipated benefits. regards, Ian.
