In the northwest region, I purchased a home in 1997 and sold it in mid 2002 for a 35% gain post commissions. I bought another home in 2002 that has appreciated only about 32% in 5 years now. So, I haven't experienced this bubble. Now people are saying that RE will go back to 1999 levels. That would be brutal for most people...
