In any case 11.65% profit margin doesn't change the point. Its hard to call that gouging even if was a constant profit. Since its much higher than the industries average profit margin, its even harder to say the industry is gouging. In a cyclical industry you have to make money in the good times. In the bad times many oil companies make pathetic margins or even lose money.
