The Defense Budget Is Bigger Than You Think No it isn't. I'm well aware of the supplementals, spending on Department of Veterans Affairs, and at Energy. As for Homeland Security and foreign aid, and Justice, those aren't military spending. Yes a lot of them might be associated with the concept of defense, but so is the budget for my local police department, "The Defense Budget" implies military, or spending.
