Russian Copper Company completes commissioning of new copper casting plant

'Russian Copper Company' (RCC) completed the commissioning of a copper casting plant using Ausmelt technology. The new capacities are located in Karabash, the Chelyabinsk region, reports the company.

The plant is to process 550 thousand tons of copper concentrate every year. The smelting furnace has the capacity of 90 thousand tons of blister copper per annum.

The construction was finished and the furnace first heated in October 2006. The plant reached the projected capacity in charge feed and matter quality during the commissioning.
