Zambezi Resources reports copper recovery of 99% at Cheowa

Source: Edited Press Release

Zambezi Resources Limited said Wednesday that flotation tests, at Cheowa, on coarser grind (106 micron) material yielded a 99% recovery of copper to concentrate grading 19.3% copper, and a 95% recovery of gold to concentrate grading 6.3 g/t gold.

The company said flotation tests on finer grind material (75 micron), with regrinding of the concentrate, yielded an outstanding result of over 97% recovery of copper at a concentrate grade of over 31% copper, and a 90% recovery of gold at a concentrate grade of 6.4 g/t gold.

Crushing and grinding parameters returned values within the normal range. The Abrasion Index reported at 0.19 is considered on the low side of normal. A Bond Ball Mill Work Index of 21 is also considered within the normal range.

Mineralogical work indicates that the sulphide assemblage chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite comprises 90-95% of the concentrates. These minerals mostly occur as discrete crystals free of gangue materials, which is consistent with the favourable metallurgical behaviour as indicated by the testwork.
