I have no sympathy for this person. The tax should be on the fair value of your home, possibly lagging by 1-year.

I could really give a rip if the taxes are going up proportional to the value of the property. That's life.

If people don't need or want city or community services, like roads, streets, libraries, schools, courts, fire and police protection, move to some ranch in Montana or do something to get yourself a stall in prison.

The real dumb parties in the housing bubble are the states, who have a huge windfall that got them out of the internet bubble crater, and they're squandering it as fast as it's coming in.
