Callinan Mines Limited: Ongoing Drill Program at Fox River Encourages Expansion of Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 14, 2007 -- Callinan Mines Limited (CDNX:CAA.V - News) continues with the encouraging drill program at Fox River, as favorable weather and ground conditions allow for ongoing drilling. The current drill targets include several VTEM located electromagnetic anomalies which coincided with previously known magnetic anomalies located in an area of inferred faulting. These anomalies are being treated as potential massive sulphide deposits.

An additional 33,133 hectares have been added to the Callinan Mines Limited and Bell Resources Joint Venture property at Fox River, Manitoba. This brings the total land holdings to 200,047 hectares. Callinan's President and CEO Mike Muzylowski stated that, "The work we are doing in the area is very encouraging and we are expanding our ground to cover potential extensions of any nickel sulphide deposit. The previously completed VTEM survey revealed that the area of faulting is likely to extend considerably towards the south west, so we've expanded our holdings in order to cover the faulted area."

About Fox River

The consensus among geological professionals is that the Fox River area represents the best probability for a new discovery of a world class base metals ore body in Canada. The Fox River Belt is widely believed to be a potential host of an extension of the Thompson Nickel Belt. The Project encompasses over 200,000 hectares and contains multiple high priority Nickel/PGE targets.

All of Callinan's exploration programs are overseen by Pat DeVeaux, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 who has reviewed and approved the contents of this release.
