re: Wrong, really isn't an answer to the question. You said you didn't see it as wrong, are you now saying you do?

Jeez. I never said I saw it as wrong, and I never said I didn't see it as wrong. Then I went on to explain that from a shareholder perspective what they did was wrong (or I would prefer just plain stupid). From a consumer perspective they can do whatever they like, but they have to suffer the consequences... same with a regulatory perspective. Did you read my response?

re: Not quite so extraordinary for the top company in the industry, when the industry is highly cyclical, and is now enjoying one of its best years. 18% operating margin would be exceptional for a company selling a commodity in a stable industry, or as the overall average in a cyclical industry, but not in the best of times in a highly cyclical industry.

They are "enjoying" extraordinary profits because of the lingering effects of the worst natural disaster in US history and because of a foreign war and the risk factors it creates. Hardly cyclical business as usual.

But like I said they can do what they want and live with the consequences.

BTW, do you think anyone reads either of our long winded notes besides you and me?
