Tell me about it. Why is it that you and I get a broken SS retirement program and yet Congress votes itself a very nice retirement plan. That is the bottom line on why it's impossible to fix SS. Get those Congressional crooks on the same plan as the rest of us and just watch how quickly they fix it. In fact, I'd bet they'd make it defined contribution, instead of today's defined benefit.
