I read somewhere that some members of Congress want to provide funds to bail out delinquent sub prime borrowers. If taken seriously, this would perpetuate the issuance of such mortgages to willing buyers who will feel that in case of trouble, Congress will be there to help. To say the least, such a bailout would be a big mistake.
