The Smearvets lied-lied-lied. Not a single thing they said about Kerry or the Vietnam War was true. If you watch the stunning documentary "Fog Of War" you will see the architect of the Vietnam War Robert McNamara admitting that it was all based on a lie, was insane overkill, that the policy-makers were lying to the American people, that it was a civil war we had no business being in the middle of and that Nixon's pride (didn't want to "lose") was the only thing that kept it going for YEARS after it should have ended, thereby costing another 20,000 US troops and countless Vietnamese lives.

If you are in the leasty bit moral as a person, you will see that Kerry was not only a hero on the battlefield, but a hero in standing up to Nixon to try and end that war.
