The shortage of hearts for transplants was a sub plot on the TV show Chicago Hope last night and Channel 4 news followed up with news piece. It seemed like the actors quoted right out of Thermocardics' annual report...40,000 hearts needed every year, only 2,500 available. And Channel 4 highlighting that people in the NYC area will die tomorrow morning because no heart is immediately availble. The pressure must be building on the FDA.
