amd's own estimate in the december "happy hour" was that they would be $500M cash flow negative in '07. Do you have a link to that? that's why they need to net at least $1B from some offering very soon. They shouldn't need to double the shares outstanding to raise $1bil. i'm guessing it will be right after the presumed approval of outstanding share doubling The proposal (which probably will be approved) will increase the allowed shares. It won't immediately or inevitably lead to a doubling of the shares outstanding.
