With Intel quad-cores only going as low as $266 you don't think AMD could produce a quad-core at a profit for that ? Defective core dies could be sold as duals or singles, even tris if there are enough of them, which would help the effective yield. Chipguy/Paul DeMone reckons a 580 sq mm Montecito costs $100 to make and Barcelona is just over half that size albeit double the cores and I would say $100 is a fair estimate of what a Barcelona costs to make.
