fwiw, we broke a forty-year record high here in the Wasatch Front yesterday.. w/ the temperature having reached 70degrees in the valley.. snow in the mountains is disappearing at an alarming rate.. my friends here tell me that you can usually ski at Snowbird until sometime in May.. my estimate is that this year, barring any major late-season storms, the last of the lifts will be closed in roughly mid-April

within the next 5 years, i hope to situate myself further north... in many ways, Alaska is beckoning..
