Plame was not only very covert but very important. Plame was a major cog in the wheel which was our entire intelligence program vs. Iran. By outing her, the White House indirectly outed every single person she'd ever come into contact with, including the shell companies, informants, allies, friends, fellow CIA officials, etc. on down the line. And just to be on the safe side the CIA would have to scrap their entire Iran intel network and start from scratch. This could be the biggest disaster for the CIA and US intelligence since one of those Cold War spy revelations. It could cost us billions, and worse, it could mean we are blind when it comes to figuring out what the hell Iran is up to these days on WMD of any kind.

Outing Plame was, in short, treason of the most insidious and un-American kind. And it was apparently intentional.

The first point Prosecutor Fitzgerald made to all of us was that Plame was covert, clandestine, top secret, etc. There can be no debating that.
