Saddam held Iraq together. Bush opened the Pandora's Box of 1500 year old feuds and had no plan for how to deal with it. Gross incompetence. Bush also lied repeatedly about the war, from the beginning, hoodwinking everyone with his phony intel and wild claims. Saddam was not even a clear threat to us and had absolutely no alliance with Al Qaida. In fact he was an enemy of Al Qaida and iran both.
