Walnuts have a natural herbicide in the roots, so they kill things like other trees in their area. The roots extend out as far as the farthest branch. The leaves cant be used as compost for the same reason. The same with the husk on the nut, all mildly poisonous..... Some of mine killed a row of my neighbours evergreens she had beside the fence for privacy. and when they go over into the parking lot of the apartment building next door the cars drive over the walnuts and the black from the walnuts makes a mess on the carpets, or so I am told......

BTW imagine giving a pill to your chihuahua if he weigh 170 pounds......... I wrap her pills in really old cheese
