You sound amused...but seriously, IF Texas decided to leave the Union OR break itself into five states, (also possible), I promise that you and most of washington would NOT be laughing too hard. Texas provides 1/5th of the nations oil and 1/4th of the nations natural gas. Not to mention number one in machine works to support the industry. Texas is the number one producer of cotton. Texas is a leader in beef and sheep production. Leader in baled hay and wool production. Texas has now surpassed California as a producer of energy using the wind. One of few states with two large economic centers. Dallas area and Houston. How much clout do you think we might nave with five governors, numerous congresscritters??
