Lehman is probably talking about the transition of fab 30 into fab 38.

He can't be talking about fab 36 as it is at 65nm since end Q4 '06. There's a whole range of A64's and Opterons at 65nm, while Barcelona is at 65nm as well. Performance is not exactly top notch yet, but it really should be improving in a normal way.

Presuming Lehman did indeed mean fab 30/38 and not fab 36 then this begs the questions of how early AMD is trying to get to 45nm, and/or if they expect at least stagnating or possibly shrinking unit demand during most of '07.

Without further details it's about impossible to know if this is positive or negative for AMD.
