I hope I didn't paint China as the enemy in my previous post. Actually, I think they can be a great friend, if we cultivate that friendship over the long term and continuously pressure them to become more Democratic and economically market based, while also respecting human rights.

Now having said that, they are a big competitor, economically, on the world stage. So we need to be cognizant of that and start acting like that matters. Otherwise, we're going to find ourselves losing jobs to overseas, while also finding our debt pile increasingly being owned by overseas bond holders and our land getting sold off to foreign companies.

Do you remember the Japanese era when a bunch of US real estate ended up being owned by Japan? And Japan is a big friend of ours, but it still was not very palatable. Americans don't like it when they don't own most of their land.

I just want to make sure America stays competitive and this President doesn't have clue one on how to do that.
