eclif/orctf

Apparently at one time orckit performed some contract engineering work for ECI Telecom: Ran across a reference to eclif in some of the older orckit literature describing contract engineering services/customers. Know from your posts that you follow/have followed both co's, any thoughts as to what this work may have been?

Most of orckit's contract work has been in wireless, although now they are known for xdsl.

One possibility would be eclif's new SkyLoop ("Wireless Local Loop product providing telephony and data services over radio and the Micro SDM-1"). At one time orckit was "involved in R&D for a Wireless Local Loop phone system with a multinational company". ECI as a multinational co?.. Seems like something of a stretch..?

On the "wired" front, possibilities would seem to be eclif's Hi-FOCuS (".. a new xDSL Broadband access system providing very high speed Internet access.."), Hi-Mux (.. a new integrated data, fax and voice system for TDM and ATM networks), Hi-TV (...an ATM based broadcast-quality video distribution services multiplexer), or HDSL equipment (read somewhere eclif was an hdsl "player" in Europe). Although on the face of it, these products seem like they may be competitive with orckit's own...

Have read through most of the eclif thread and poked around in the eclif website. Looks like an interesting company. Would also be interested in any info on eclif's new optical components or Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) modules that you might have dug up.

Best Wishes
