I've read several times that Intel claims SOI at 65 nm does not give significant advantage. I wouldn't know. SOI is just a word to me. I don't know what else it implies. Other than it adds to cost, and it makes it harder to achieve higher frequencies. So why would AMD stick with it ? I have no idea if it is the cause of the apparent in-ability to bring high bin parts to market, or not. Is the AMD design so dependent on SOI that they have to stick with it ?
