Thursday October 2 10:25 AM EDT Intel Plans No Comment Before Reporting Q3 NEW YORK - Intel said the semiconductor maker has no plans to make any statements regarding its earnings before the regularly scheduled release of its results on October 14. "We're not making any announcements," an Intel spokeswoman said when asked about speculation on Wall Street that the company might make an announcement after the market close about lower-than-expected quarterly earnings. Traders said the rumors were taking a small bite out of Intel's stock. The rumors came one day after rival Advanced Micro Devices said it is now looking at a substantially larger than expected operating loss for the third quarter, due to lower yields for its new K6 chip.
